I think most of the people in our country is familiar with this term - Mat Rempit. The majority of the Mat Rempit are from adolescent age group. From my point of view, all the stunt they showed were impressive. Perhaps, they are really talented and courageous. But what makes this an issue is they are showing their talent in a wrong way and at a wrong place. Driving recklessly and endanger other road users' life, create social problem such robbery, stealing motorcycle and etc. When you browse through all the video shared on Mat-Rempit, you can see most of the comments are having a negative attitude and showing disagreement on this behavior.
As what I know, there were some workshop to help the Mat Rempit to change their behavior organized by police department with the collaboration of a research team from the National University of Malaysia lead by Associate Professor Dr Rozmi Ismail. They find out the psychological interventions can help to change the behavior of Mat Rempit. I just heard about this from somewhere but I'm not very sure on the details of the workshop.
From your point of view, do you think this issue should receive more attention from the society?Do you believe that Psychological Intervention can work effectively or law enforcement is more important and is there any other solution for this issue? Or maybe you would like to share some of your personal experience such as met them in action or joined them before.. =) feel free to share..
p/s: Sorry if there are a lot of grammatical error because I'm not so good in that.. =)
